If you’re a do-it-yourself person or possess any special skills, you can make a gift. For example, if you sew you can make the person a quilt. If you are a closet poet or songwriter, write a sonnet or song about the recipient. Sing or read the song or poem and have the original framed.
A custom made coupon book may be a a welcomed X-Mas gift. Put together individual certificates for doing odd jobs, organizing, and clean-up for the recipient. You might offer to organize their photos into albums, do a week’s worth of dishes, or clean their garage. If the recipient is a spouse you could give romantic delights such as foot massages and date nights. A certificate book can be created by printing off blank certificates that can be found online and bound with staples or string.
If you’re shopping for a present for an entire family, and have no idea what they like, a gift basket may be the ideal answer. You can fill a low cost basket with homemade cookies or muffins, small packages of cocoa mix, coffee mugs, and fresh fruit. You might also want to think about garden decoration gifts such as bird houses, bird feeders, or yard sculptures. A youngster might like a gift basket full of treats from the dollar store. Some ideas could be crayons, rubber balls, jump ropes, balloons, multicolored windmills, small stuffed animals, play dough, and candy.
Teenage girls might enjoy a gift basket filled with hair ties, clips, brushes, lip gloss, hair color, and a magazine or two. A new mother may like a gift basket that includes items like soothing bath gels, foot creams, and essential oils. If you can, add a gift coupon to a health spa, beauty store, or a department store. The main thing is that you include thoughtful X-Mas gifts that take into consideration what the person likes.
Kids enjoy receiving treasures, so why not offer them a treasure chest? This Christmas present is simple and you can include things from thrift stores, web stores, and even your own garage. To begin, locate a trunk with a safety cover. This could be a decked out plastic container, cardboard box, or a real chest. Then, choose a theme. If your theme is dress-up, you can load the chest with bracelets, hats, old clothing, play wands and swords, shoes, bows, and flags. Other theme ideas might be pirates, royalty, medieval, sports, astronauts, or extraterrestrial.
As you can see, with a little thinking you can find inspirational Christmas gifts that are quite inexpensive. All it takes is a small amount of digging to find out what the recipient’s interests are, if you don’t already know what they are, and a visit to the local convenience store. Always remember, it’s the thought that counts.
