Many people like to give books or gift cards from book stores as gifts. However, a better gift for an avid reader would be a book lover’s gift basket. This unique basket would be something that they will enjoy receiving because it will be full of reading goodies. It is not hard to create a book lover’s gift basket.

Begin with a nice basket of any size or shape. Make sure the basket is large enough to hold all of the supplies you will later be adding. Line the bottom of the basket with a nice piece of cloth or material of your choice. A solid color cloth would look best, unless the recipient loves certain patterns.

Next, find out which author and genre the person who will be receiving the basket likes to read. Then purchase some titles of this particular author or genre. Only buy two or three books. In addition to the books, you can also add a book store gift card and a special book marker.

Snuggle Up With A Good Book

Most book lovers love to snuggle up with a good book. Therefore, you can also add a pair of soft footie socks and maybe even a small blanket. Add a small book light for those readers who like to read in bed at night. You might even consider adding a bath pillow, because some readers even enjoy reading a good book while they are relaxing in the bath tub.

Snacks Go With Any Type Of Book

If there is still some room in your book lover’s gift basket, then add a few packs of cookies, crackers, granola bars or pretzels. You can also add some packs of hot cocoa or coffee and a cute coffee mug. If you add these items, make sure you include a napkin and any needed condiments such as powdered cream, sugar, and a stirring stick.

Your book lover’s gift basket is sure to be a big hit with anyone who loves to read good books. Anyone who loves to snuggle up with a good book and a yummy snack will be totally surprise when you show up with this unique and wonderful book lover’s gift basket. It will be a gift that will never be forgotten. So, if you are in need of a gift for someone who loves to read and you do not simply want to give them a book; give them a book lover’s gift basket.

Holiday Gift Baskets Are Easy And Fun To Make

Are you stumped on what to get all those people on your holiday gift list? Are there some names on that list of people you don’t really know? Sometimes, making a trip to the busy store becomes even more stressful when you have no idea what to buy for whom. That’s where holiday gift baskets come in handy. Holiday gift baskets for men, holiday gift baskets for women, and even gift baskets for couples are great ideas for holiday gifts. You can custom make each basket to tailor it for the person or you can make a few generic holiday gift baskets so that you’re always covered in case some names suddenly appear on your holiday shopping list.

Preparing The Basket

Before you think about what to put inside the basket, you need to buy the materials to make one. First, get a regular basket, large enough to hold whatever you wish to put in it, some cellophane plastic wrap and a bow. Make sure you also have clear tape and scissors on hand. To fill the basket, you should pad the bottom with either tissue paper or some plastic grass like they do at Easter time. On top of the padding, you can put anything into the holiday gift basket you wish. You must decide whether to tailor make the basket or to keep it generic.

What Does The Person Like?

If you’re going to tailor make the holiday gift basket to fit the person, think back to anything the person may have said that could have been a hint as to what they want for the holidays. If nothing comes to mind, think of what that person likes and then fill the holiday gift basket with items that correspond with that hobby or lifestyle. For example, if the person likes to cook, you could include some recipe cards, some cutting knives, or anything else they could use in their cooking ventures. Anything that fits into the basket will do, just make sure not to overfill it.

Generic Baskets

If you wish to make some generic holiday gift baskets, just fill it with holiday related things. Maybe put some cheese and corkscrews in there for them to get their own wine, or maybe put a wine bottle in there as well. A generic holiday gift basket can contain anything that has to do with the holidays and the recipient will love the gesture.

That’s what holiday gift baskets are great for: Showing a good gesture. When you give a gift basket, the person receiving it will love that it was made just for them, that you actually made it instead of just selecting an item off a store shelf, and that gives baskets that personal touch you really can’t give with any other holiday gift.
